Many food trees in the gardens at Second Valley Settler Cottages are from root stock originally brought to South Australia on the first visit by Col. William Light. This may be so, the plantings are certainly old, but still bearing great produce. There are various trees bearing plums, apples, mulberries, pears, almonds, cherries and figs. The bi-annual Festival Fleurieu will be held over the 13-22 April period this year, with a diversity of events and displays. One not to be missed activity is the Randalsea Historic Tour, a walk conducted by local, Jodie Schmid.
